Our exclusive Chinese Barbecue (Char Siu) Cooking Sauce & Marinade just made it oh-so-easy for you to create authentic Chinese Char Siu pork right at home. It has that distinctive red color and a delicious, sweet and savory taste that you've been looking for.

Char Siu sauce is literally means fork roasted, and refers to a class of sauces that are generally based on a sweet and savory sauce which is used as a glaze or marinade on roasted meat. The sugars in the sauce caramelize and have a sticky reddish color on the outside.

One of the most popular meals with Char Siu is steamed buns called char siu pork bao. NOH Char Siu sauce is a must in asian cooking and for chinese food.

The base of char siu sauce is generally soy sauce, then rice wine, star anise, and hoisin sauce. Hoisin is the smoky umami taste that comes from sesame paste, fermented soybeans, garlic, and rice vinegar.

NOH's version of Char Siu has the same sweet and savory flavor, but doesn't use corn syrup as the sweetener that many competition brands do. It uses real cane sugar.

Char Siu sauce is usually used for pork, but can be used as a chicken and ribs barbecue sauce as well. It is one of the most versatile sauces in chinese cuisine.

Excellence in customer service…

Rarely do you find a company that not only backs their products, but provides excellent customer service as well. I’ve been searching for this particular Char Siu Sauce for a year now, since the only store that carried it in Anchorage ran out and didn’t restock. NOH makes the absolute best marinade I’ve ever had, and TDP is the only distributor that would attempt to send it here. Kudos to Eric for taking the time and effort to communicate on a human level and get the job done. I’ll be making the world’s best ribs again soon!
